CBHS Peninsula Scouts Tournament - 27 Aug '14

A number of Camps Bay High School pupils who are part of the Camps Bay Scout patrol recently came 10th out of 35 in the Peninsula Scouts Tournament called the Gordon Shield.

The team consisted of: Mpho Meti, Joshua Schreiber, Kyle Valadas, Daniel Amann and Jordan Bysshe (Team Leader).

The Gordon Shield was first donated to the Boy Scouts Association in 1914 by Mr W G Haines of the Gordons Institute as “An Annual Competition between Cape Peninsula Scouts". Since then the Peninsula Scouts Tournament has been held every year without fail, (including through two World Wars) and today is still the most popular Cape Western Area Competition on the Scouting calendar.

CBHS Gadi Friedman Swiming Awards - 26 Aug '14

At the recently held Western Province Swimming Awards, Camps Bay High School's Gadi Friedman won the following prizes:

• Best Open Water swimmer in the 13-15 age group;
• Top Western Province points scorer in Pool Swimming;
• Western Province Youth Colours for Open Water Swimming; and
• A certificate for breaking the Western Province record in the 1500m freestyle event!

CBHS Albie Sachs Visits Our School - 25 Aug '14

The staff and pupils of Camps Bay High School were delighted to welcome Albie Sachs, who has been a lifelong freedom fighter, at an Assembly on Monday, 25 August 2014. Albie served as a judge on the Constitutional Court of South Africa, appointed by Nelson Mandela in 1994 and retired in October 2009. 

In the photograph Albie Sachs signs a copy of South Africa’s Bill of Rights which he helped to draft. He handed a copy of the Bill of Rights to the school which they will have framed and will display in the school.

CBHS U14 Girls' Hockey beats Groote Schuur - 25 Aug '14

The Under-14 Girls' Hockey Team were very excited when they beat Groote Schuur High School at the recently held annual Sports Derby, which this year took place at Camps Bay High School. The final score was 7 to 1!

CBHS Groote Schuur Derby - 23 Aug '14

On Saturday, 23 August 2014, Camps Bay High School hosted the annual Sports Derby with Groote Schuur High School.

Of particular note were the U-14 Girls' Hockey Team who beat their counterparts 7 -1! You can see the article ‹‹here››.

A morning of great sports and sportsmanship was enjoyed by all.

CBHS Camps Bay Has Got Talent - 8 Aug '14

On Friday, 8 August 2014, a fun-filled evening of dance, music and singing was staged by the Representative Council of Learners of Camps Bay High School.
