It is with pride and pleasure that we reproduce the following article from the Camps Bay High School's first newsletter of 2016:
Matric Results
I was delighted to learn when I collected our Matric results on the morning of 6th January 2016, that Camps Bay High School Matriculants had achieved a 100% pass rate! Back at school, myself and the executive were able to scrutinize the results before the release to the pupils at 12h00.
I share the following facts and figures for your interest:
We had a group of top performers, with 10% attaining an A-aggregate. When this group is enlarged to include all A and B aggregates, we have 25% of our pupils in this group.
There were 109 children who completed the exams and they achieved 125 subject A’s.
The criteria that the Department of Education uses to define a pass that will allow a pupil to go to university is a Bachelor’s pass.
82,6% of the 2015 Matric class achieved a Bachelor’s pass. This is slightly up from 2014 (which figure was 81,7%) and a significant increase from 2013 (where it was 73,9%). This is a clear indication that the quality of our passes is improving.
This is the second year that we have seen the Matrics achieve a 100% pass rate.
On reflection, I am very proud of these results. They are a credit to the teachers and the pupils efforts and hard work. I am hoping this serves as an inspiration to our Matric Class of 2016.
